Navosa brothers Kavekini Tabu, Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Isoa Tabu will spearhead Z&S BBQ Yamacia 7s team at the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament set for September 24-26.

The brothers are going to add power, pace and experience to the side that are aiming to reach the final stages of the tournament. Team manager Issac Dakuitoga confirmed

this to SUNsports yesterday.

Yamacia are in the tournament’s pool of death where they take on defending champions Police Blue, Mizuno Babaas and Naviavia. Dakuitoga said the brothers were released by the Fiji Rugby Union to join the side.

“This is where they started,” Dakuitoga said. “Their availability will really boost our preparations for the Marist 7s,” he said.

“To return and share their sevens knowledge with their team-mates means a lot to the team as a whole.

“Most of the current players are young and new so the brother’s presence will really boost them.

“We missed out last year’s tournament but that’s all in the past, this year we will be trying out our luck.”

Dakuitoga added the team have been preparing well over the last few weeks. from their camp in Nadi

“It has been a long time coming for the team because of the COVID-19 pandemic we had to stop training due to restrictions.

“After the restrictions were lifted we started training. We are eager to get back on to the pitch and play in a tournament.

“We will be like every other team just to get out there and play rugby to enjoy the game after a long while. The boys have been going through some tough training sessions and mental preparations.

“Discipline is one of the key areas that we are working hard on and off course our game areas like set pieces.”

“The team has been working around the clock in trying out attack and defense strategy.”

Dakuitoga said they are grateful to their sponsors Z&S BBQ for their endless support in assisting the team in training for the tournament.
