Reached Centenarian

Kirti Patel, Lautoka

In this unfortunate and unpredictable timing of young lives being lost due to drowning and other health issues, seems like blessing for Veniana Nakolinivalu to be celebrating her 100th Birthday with her loved ones. Just not that, being strong at that age is another positive factor for this “centenarian, who can read without glasses”.

It is great to know that “more than 300 people gathered at the FSC grounds in Rakiraki to celebrate a once in a lifetime event.” Congratulations to this healthy senior citizen of our country. Hope you have many more wonderful years to come by.

This should come as motivation for those in their 60’s to 90’s who has lost hope due to whatever reasons.

While every individual scenario is always different, hope, healthy tips and loved ones are the key to long and a happy run in life. Blessed weekend to all!

Hypocrisy

Jan Nissar, Australia

It was reported that the Leader of the Opposition had said that “the membership of state-owned enterprise (SOE) and statutory body boards were not representative of the range of talent and expertise available in Fiji”.

Shouldn’t he be more concerned about this kind of balance within his party before he comments on these matters?

Maybe we all are ignorant because this sort of balance is not applicable to SODELPA, as they are special.

Would it be unreasonable of us to conclude that the Leader of the Opposition is being a hypocrite? Perhaps he is just plain blind? Discuss.

Women on Boards Sukha Singh, Labasa

Why don’t all the women get together and make a Women’s Party and try to win the election. Then you can have as many women on the boards as you please.

By the way, I haven’t seen any complaints as to why there are no woman street sweepers.
