Broad Expansion Plans For Liquor Chain Store
Indulge will open another four outlets around the mainland, managing director Neil Underhill said. He said two more outlets would be opened in Suva, one in Ba and another in Nadi.
“Once we have these operating successfully we plan to investigate opening a shop in Labasa and Savusavu,” Mr Underhill said.
Indulge is the retail side of Wailada-based Lawhill Wines. “COVID-19 has so far had a minimal impact on Indulge business, as it is not as dependent on foreign visitors in the way that Lawhill Wines has been impacted.”
Five shops
Indulge has five shops around the country, initiated after a trial run in Deuba.
“We started at Pacific Harbour to see how they would run,” Mr Underhill said.
The five shops are located at:
·Wailada, Lami, at Fiji Coffee’s headquarters;
·Pacific Harbour at Rejeev’s service station;
·Korotogo, at the Sitar building;
·Denarau at the Denarau Industrial Park;
·TOTAL service station at Saweni.
Each shop, he said had over 300 items, including beers, wines, fruit juices, coffee, tea, kava, honey, chicken and prawn dumplings.
Each shop sells wine glasses and decanters, Coleman Products, fresh water prawns and fish, he said.
“We stock the newly released Vula Viti Vodka and Blue Turtle Gin,” Mr Underhill said.
“Very soon we shall be selling Vanua Chocolates.” Mr Underhill said an approximate sum of $150,000 was invested in stock and operating equipment at each of the five outlets. Indulge will add additional products to the items available. The proposed expansion range will include cheese from France, and home-made cookies, Mr Underhill said.
“We are continually looking for appropriate products to sell in our shops.” Indulge participates at various market days, including that in Korotogo and Vuda, with the hope of joining the Suva ROC Market soon.
