McPherson to Semi-retire by End of the Year
Looks like FijiCare Insurance Limited Managing Director Peter McPherson will be semi retiring by the end of the year.
In an interview with Mr McPherson, he shared his 23 years experience at FijiCare.
“I am 68-years-old and at this stage I will still be a director.”
He says he would be a consultant from next year, but that depends on the company directors’ decision.
He said he would not be leaving Fiji but “of course, I will just have more time to myself.
“My current role as managing director I oversee all the operations and the company procedures within Fiji and Vanuatu. “I have spent 23 years at FijiCare and there are many highlights. “One of the highlights is meeting exciting new staff members over the 23 years, publicly listing
the company in the year 2000, and putting new procedures in place. “I would like to thank everybody for the last 23 years I have been at FijiCare.”
He said the company has a very good executive level which they have put together and are very excited over it.
“FijiCare is going to be a company that’s going to get bigger and better because there is new management coming in.
“They are young and keen and that goes from the Chairman, Avi Raju, right to the executive level and to the lower work level. “They are going to push FijiCare forward and it is exciting.” In July, Mr McPherson resigned from the National Fire Authority board.
“I have spent 12 and a half years on the board so I am just looking at having more time to myself.
“Being in the board I saw a lot of improvement from the time I started in 2009 to now.”
His term on the Insurance Council of Fiji is ending soon.
A big thank you to Mr McPherson for contributing enormously to Fiji!
