Diplomatic Missions

Tukai Lagonilakeba, Nadi

I personally feel our Government must make it a point to include as many of these diplomats and donor agencies to join their inspection tours during their many isolated maritime islands, and Remote Inland visits, so they can see the realities on the ground for these Fijians, and accordingly provide the necessary assistance applicable to suite their lifestyle, and improve it.

I feel that, majority of our Fijian relatives in these remote places are missing out on the many assistance from these Diplomatic Missions, and development partners. But I believe that many of their daily struggles and poverty can be alleviated should these officials are given an opportunity to physically experience and see firsthand the reality of how these ordinary Fijians go through life daily.

With our limited resources, and our fragile economy, which has been affected by the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, our development partners must be given every opportunity to assist our country in its recovery pathway.

The first Fiji50 celebrations have just left our shores and the next Fiji50 walk for the next generations have just started but what a coincidence this is for the FijiFirst, Bainimarama Government to kick start and take our country forward to our first Fiji millennium celebrations in moulding a better Fiji for all those that will call this place their home where we ask that they take ownership now to decide their future.

Our 2013 Constitution exactly provides us that guaranteed pathway through its preambles and bill of rights, Fiji for all Fijians.

Isa, I personally feel for all those senior citizens of society in this generation as they will not be around then, but they have all contributed in their very own unique way to get us this far. Isa, l wonder what would my home country Fiji be like come the millennium celebration.

God Bless our nation and our future generations with its well educated leaders. A literate Fiji is a must, and there is no other way. That is where the future of our country can be rested and determined.

To our future leaders, I plead with many others, please make Fiji a better paradise for all and always uphold your 2013 Constitution.
