Is it a blunder, good governance, misuse, no accountability or is it a blatant abuse of office, power and privilege? These are some of the famous jargon that we normally hear from the qualified Professor of Economics in Parliament, and leader of the National Federation Party, Biman Prasad. Has it now come back to haunt him, Lenora Qereqeretabua and Pio Tikoduadua?

Is it only the Winston relief funds, but how about the COVID-19 funds if there was any allocated to them also for relief and rehab works and were their mates from the SODELPA house also given the same?

I personally believe the auditor general’s office must be called in to intervene and check out the books in political camps, but intriguing though is the Fiji Labour Party leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, who is mum in all this. These are issues both the senior and that coward keyboard warrior Chaudhry junior are expected to be commenting on when chipping in their new Fiji50 independence commemorative fifty Cents coin.

It does not matter if it is public funds, monies from donor agencies or through our development partners offshore, it is always prudent that our Government and the auditor general’s office must ensure they maintain transparency and accountability at all times. To those that hold public offices, you are all subjected to public scrutiny and will not always have the same political immunity similar to your MPs parliamentary privileges inside, you must answer and face the music from the piano you personally tuned.

But I guess this is still a learning curve for Professor Biman on how to manage bookkeeping matters which is very similar to what Riddhi Damodar said on her parting shot to the NFP leader from her resignation during their NFP annual general meeting last month.

I believe Damodar was correct and very pertinent during her departure.
