A family affair: Investment into the future

From operating as a normal bakery,Hot Bread Kitchen has invested $ 480,000 at Damodar City Complex in Suva.It reopened yesterday with a spacious cafe added selling beverages and food. Founder of Hot Bread Kitchen, Mere Samisoni, officiated at the opening.

Ms Samisoni,83,said:“Hot Bread Kitchen has recently being upgrading with modern designs that include a brick finish with modern lighting to add to the modern cafe. “We have presented our customers an opportunit­y to come in, sit and enjoy some of our renown confection­aries.”

Ms Samisoni said Hot Bread Kitchen understand­s that today’s markets have become exposed to global standards that appeal to customer satisfacti­on by not only the product,but also the layout and feel of the place

She said the previous space was one of the busiest shops for Hot Bread Kitchen.

“The long line of customers that would be waiting for their turn to purchase something was something we wanted to address.

“When the shop space became available, we grabbed it and decided to give our customers an improved shopping experience, she said.

“We want to ensure that Hot Bread Kitchen provides the quality customer service in a safe and hygienic bakery,” Ms Samisoni said.

She said the renovation­s had taken 2 months to conduct and hopes that the new shopping experience will make up for the inconvenie­nce caused.

During the two months of renovation, Hot Bread Kitchen outlet at Damodar complex operated out of a caravan.

The newly renovated outlet has 36 workers.

“We have opted to have workers on reduced hours so that they remain working and contributi­ng in sustaining our national economy,” she said.

Ms Samisoni said Hot Bread Kitchen have been giving leftovers to the Salvation Army and Methodist food kitchens as part of their community help avoiding food wastage.

She said Hot Bread Kitchen plans

to expand to Vanua Levu to be part of Damodar City in Labasa.

Hot Bread Kitchen is also planning to construct a centralise­d facility in Viti Levu.

“This will cater for the central and eastern divisions to address Energy Fiji Limited capacity issues,she said.

Opening Hours

The Damodar City bakery and cafe is open from 5am to 8pm Monday to Sunday.

Shop offers

“We will serve Long loaves, cakes, pizzas,health breads, roast chicken subway sandwiches and hot and cold beverages,she said.
