A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR EASTERN HALF OF VITI LEVU AND INTERIOR OF THE LARGER ISLANDS, NORTHEASTE­RN PARTS OF VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, NORTHERN LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

SITUATION

A trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Fiji. The associated cloud and rain affects the northern and the eastern part of the group and expected to spread to the rest of the group from later today.

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TONIGHT FOR THE FIJI GROUP

Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thundersto­rms over the eastern half of Viti Levu and interior of the other larger islands, northeaste­rn parts of Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, northern Lau and Lomaiviti group. Elsewhere, cloudy periods with showers and thundersto­rms expected especially in the afternoon and evening. Isolated heavy falls expected.

Flash flooding expected over low lying areas from localised heavy falls. Moderate east to southeast winds, fresh at times. Moderate to rough seas.

OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW

Occasional rain and few thundersto­rms over the eastern parts and the interior of the larger islands, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group. Cloudy periods with some showers and afternoon and evening thundersto­rms expected elsewhere.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thundersto­rms.

OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Occasional rain and few thundersto­rms.

For Sigatoka / Coral Coast : Cloudy periods with showers and thundersto­rms expected in the afternoon and evening today.
