Vuvale Restaurants invest $3 m in new complex, built extra floor
Vuvale Restaurants Fiji, the parent company of McDonald’s Fiji, officially opened a state- of- the- art three
storey business complex at Enamanu Road, Nadi.
The new building is a part of Vuvale Restaurants’ diversification process of moving into commercal real estate development. The new building will become
the headquarters for Ernst and Young (EY), after the company relocated from Lautoka to Nadi to service the increasing demand for accountancy and audit services in Nadi.
The three-story complex con
structed by Jack’s Manufacturing Limited also houses the relocated head office of McDonald’s Fiji, Nadi.
Managing director, Marc McElrath, said the $3 million investment was a start of more investments in 2021.
He said the new office complex was supposed to be completed in eight months, but dragged on because of the challenges of 2020.
Expansion
“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it had to push to 12-months completion,” Mr McElrath said. “Initially, the project was supposed to be two floors; then it went to three floors.”
A total of 30 workers of Ernst and Young, and 15 workers of McDonald’s Fiji, will be employed in the complex.
“We have decided to move back to Nadi from Suva, to centralise our operations, as we have our distribution center and upcoming bakery,” Mr McElrath said.
Designer
The complex was designed by Sanjay Patel, the principal designer of Design Hut, and completed by Jack’s Manufacturing Limited (JML), a subsidiary of the Jack’s of Fiji Group of Companies.
Jack’s of Fiji group chairman, Dilip Khatri, thanked McDonald’s Fiji for giving them such a project.
Jack’s Manufacturing Limited has three other developments to work on in the new year.
