I HAVE SIX GRANDCHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS PANDEMIC.

I decided to take care of Mohammed who is the youngest of them all. Mohammed Aihub

Alivestock farmer, who took one of his six grandchildren to financially support, sold two goats to buy his grandson school items. Mohammed Aihub, 62, earned $400 from each sale on Monday. Yesterday he was seen with the six-year-old Mohammed Shabil Sairusi in Nadi Town.

Mr Aihub said he took on the initiative because his grandchildren’s parents were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I have six grandchildren whose parents have been affected by this pandemic. I decided to take care of Mohammed who is the youngest of them all,” he said.

Shabil will be in Year 1 at Nadi Muslim Primary.

“My grandson is excited and looking forward to going to primary school.,” Mr Aihub said. “Yesterday I sold some of my goats because I wanted to buy my grandson’s school stationery and his uniforms.”

“It is good to buy now because it is still cheaper and we could afford it. I don’t know next year the price might go up.”
