Totoka Organics brand ambassador, Caroline Gatu, is your typical homegirl. The 22-year old of Buca, in Vanua Levu, studied hotel management at the University of the South Pacific and worked as a flight attendant for Fiji Airways.

She was an aspirant of the Miss World Fiji contest in 2016.

Totoka Organics is a Fijian-owned skincare company which was launch earlier this month by its 17-year old entrepreneur, Declan Sanday

Ms Gatu is staying stead in Vanua Levu.

Ms Gatu was raised at Tukavesi, Vanua Levu, where she attended Kama District School.

“I have fond recollections of my childhood, running around and playing at the school compound,” she said.

“My mother was a school teacher.

“During the holidays, we usually spent time with families at Nause, Buca Bay and Nagigi, in Savusavu.”

“I have always heard about Totoka Organics.

“I’ve also heard alot about the role of brand ambassador.

“It’s completely alien to me, but I know I’ll adapt in no time.”

What is the one place you would take visitors to in Fiji, and why?

Yasawa islands, of course

The trip there can be a bit rough but it is well worth it.

What is your secret backyard spot, and why?

It’s not a secret - Naitilo Island, off coast of Nagigi Village, in Savusavu.

I love the view and sound of waves crashing amongst the rocks.

What is the one local bucket list, and why?

Vanuablavu, in the Lau group

I can not wait to visit the place.

I feel like the photos don’t do justice to the place.

What is your favourite place in Fiji for a coffee or pie?

I’m more of a tea person, and I love some homemade pie.
