- Shratika Naidu

Macuata Advisory Councillor chairperson Anil Prasad is pleading to Tropical Cyclone Yasa affected families to have patience as advisory councillors are still trying to reach out to them. It comes after some in affected areas in Labasa complained that more than a week had lapsed and they had yet to receive food rations from Government. Mr Prasad said there were 29 advisory councillors in Macuata and some look after big areas.

“I understand what families are going through during this tough time,” Mr Prasad said.

“The councillors are working closely together with the Commissioner Northern’s office.

“Some advisory councillors were not spared by the TC Yasa and they are trying to build their house,” he said. “While some do not have transportation and they walk long distances to gather information.” >
