Jazz on New Year’s Eve at Shenanigan­s

Jazz lovers are in for a night of fun and entertainm­ent on New Year’s Eve. The Fiji Jazz Society is hosting Jazz and Blues night in the capital’s popular pub, Shenanigan­s Tavern.

The even starts at 4pm and tickets are selling at $40 each.

Interim president of the Fiji Jazz Society Darlene Underwood said Fiji and the Pacific’s Jazz maestro Tom Mawi will open the show. “This event is a lead up to the

Fiji Jazz Society’s affiliatio­n to the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz, based in New York, USA,” she said.

The Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz is a non-profit education organisati­on with a mission to offer music education programmes for young people around the world.” Fiji Jazz Society interim committee members are:Isireli Vulaca (Secretary General), Jerry Vatuwaqa (Committee Member), Conrad Kwan (Committee Member).
