A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE YASAWA AND MAMANUCA GROUP, VITI LEVU, KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS AND LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

SITUATION

An active trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the group and is expected to gradually weaken later. Associated showers and rain affects the country.

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TONIGHT FOR THE FIJI GROUP

Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, and Lau and Lomaiviti group. Rain gradually easing to showers later. Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. Isolated heavy falls likely. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Moderate northwesterly to southeasterly winds. Moderate seas.

OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW

Occasional showers and few thunderstorms about southern and eastern parts of Viti Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti group and Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Cloudy periods with some showers and afternoon or evening thunderstorms elsewhere. Isolated heavy falls likely.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Rain gradually easing to showers later. Outlook for TOMORROW: Occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Localised heavy falls likely. For Sgatoka / Coral Coast : Occasional rain and few thunderstorms. Rain gradually easing to showers later. Outlook for TOMORROW: Cloudy periods with some showers and afternoon or evening thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Rain gradually easing to showers later. Outlook for TOMORROW: Cloudy periods with some showers and afternoon or evening thunderstorms.

For Tavua / Rakiraki : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Rain gradually easing to showers later. Outlook for TOMORROW: Cloudy periods with showers and thunderstorms especially in the afternoon or evening.

For Labasa : Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Outlook for TOMORROW: Cloudy periods with some showers and isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Outlook for TOMORROW: Cloudy periods with some showers and afternoon or evening thunderstorms.

For Lau and Lomaiviti groups : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Rain gradually easing to showers later. Outlook for TOMORROW: Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Rotuma : Situation : A trough of low pressure lies to the east of the group and is moving towards the group. Associated cloud and showers are expected to affect the group later. Occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Showers easing to some showers today. Moderate north to northeast winds. Moderate seas.
