Road condition a top priority, Authority tells

Potholes and road condition especially after the recent spate of rain are on the priority list for the Fiji Roads Authority.

Work has started on Nokonoko Road. The FRA has plans to start work on 55 roads in the Suva to Nausori corridor.

FRA acting chief executive officer Kamal Prasad said FRA prioritise­d public safety.

“We have recently completed roadworks on sections of Pratt Street, Selbourne Street, Hercules Street, Holland Street, Amy Street, Ono Street, and some sections of Queens Road at Namuka-i-Lau and Veisari, Fulaga Street, Nasevou Street in Lami, Nayau Street, Gordon Street, Komo Street, Milverton Road, Argo Street, Waimanu Road,” he said.

“Works are currently in progress at sections on Princes Road, Nokonoko Road, Vunakece Road, Lakeba Street and Leys Street.”

FRA plans to work on the following roads:

The bridgework in Nasese along Queen Elizabeth would be completed in the next four months. Mr Prasad said it was one of their major projects.
