Titilia Divuna is confident that her husband is still alive somewhere out there. Fisher Aisea Rokodau, 45, and Seruvi Walu, 18, have not been home since January 22. They were reported missing on Wednesday. In light of this, a Search And Rescue (SAR) team was deployed.

The pair were returning onboard a fiberglass boat from Cikobia Island to their village at Vunikodi in Udu Point, Cakaudrove.

“I told him to return on the same day, but the weather turned out to be unfavourable so they stayed back in Cikobia,” Ms Divuna said.

“Seruvi is our pastor’s son. They went together that day.”

She said the last conversation she had with her husband was before they had left Vunikodi on Friday morning for Cikobia.

“I did not expect such a thing to happen but I am praying and hoping they are safe out there, wherever they are,” he said.

“I told my children not to give up yet and keep praying for their father’s health and safety at sea.” Eparama Rokodiva, Aisea’s cousin said they had left Vunikodi Village together and were to return again together, but the pair chose to stay because of unfavourable weather conditions.

Police have requested anyone with information that may assist them and the Fiji Navy Search and Rescue Centre to call Crime Stoppers on 919 or 9905543.
