On the Go, a Tappoo Group subsidiary, opened its sixth Mobil branded service station yesterday in Natokowaqa, Lautoka. On the Go has invested around $3 million on their latest site.

Executive director, Kaushal Tappoo, says they are delighted at the final product.

“We have been planning the right mix for a while, and I am delighted how it’s turned out.

“People expect a certain level of style and sophistication from On the Go sites now.”

About the two new concepts

On the Go have launched two new concepts with the Natokowaqa site, that is the On the Go Bakery, and Go Cafe.

“Banarais can be proud of a bakery at their door step.

“While we were in the planning stages, residents from the area behind our site came to us and said please open a bakery, we are starved of a bakery in the area.”

That was the catalyst for On the Go to launch a new bakery concept. Mr Tappoo also said a new Go Cafe concept has been launched.

“The Go Cafe features self serve cappuccino on the go.

“Customers pick a takeaway cup, select their expresso, long black, cappuccino, flat white, or mocaccino, press a button, and keep going.”

Mr Tappoo believes there’s no reason why a service station can’t offer a good cup of coffee.

“We are using 100 per cent Arabic beans in our Go Cafe. People will be surprised at how well priced our cappuccinos are.”

The Natokowaqa site will also feature a lube bay, and autos fill, for gas run vehicles.

While this is On the Go’s sixth own site, they also run Mobil owned sites throughout Fiji. Despite the pandemic, Tappoo Group continues to invest in Fiji’s economy.

“We have a really good partnership with Mobil,” Mr Tappoo said.

“We have plans to open more sites. “We have created new jobs, along with redeploying some of our existing staff from the tourism sector.

“It’s nice to be able to offer jobs to those of our staff who have been affected by the closure of Fiji’s border due to the pandemic.

“There’s a lot of hard work ahead of us, but we are excited about our latest service station, and the new concepts we have developed,” said Mr Tappoo.

Mobil Oil (Fiji) chief executive officer, Adi Tamara acknowledged the Tappoo Group for their significant investment and congratulated them on opening this one-of-a-kind service station.

“We are proud to add the On the Go Mobil Natokowaqa service station to the Mobil network,” Mr Tamara said.
