Methodist Church Holding Trust (Lako Yani Vou Management) Board Member, Sereana Qoro revealed that the first retail business complex will be constructed soon.

Ms Qoro highlighted this during the Talatala Qase and Tuirara Levu retreat held at Centenary Church on Wednesday.

The company, Lako Yani Retail PTE Ltd will run all retail business activities of Methodist Church in Fiji Holding Trust (MCFHT).

The board members include Isoa Kaloumaira (Chairman), Eapi Nabou, Marika Luveniyali, Ruci Karuru and Sereana Qoro.

The service station will be in two commercial lots within the Davuilevu Subdivision (NEW).

“It will be at the junction of Adi Davila Road and Mataika Road,” Ms Qoro said.

“A Supply Agreement and a Marketing Assistance Programme Agreement has been signed with Mobil Oil Fiji for a term of 10 years from December 2022 to allow time for the construction of the service station.

“The good thing about this business is that Mobil Oil Fiji will give $450,000 for the construction of the service station. An estimated project cost will be $1.5 million.

“As we know that rate of return will be fast when the business starts. They have revealed that they want more service stations.”

Ms Qoro said the Lako Yani Retail Board received presentations from five architectural firms for the construction of the service station.

“The board deliberated on all the presentations made and made an assessment of the quality and the content of the presentations made in light of the scope is given,” she said.

“After due analysis and assessment, the board agreed that the architectural retail services for the outline design of the new service station complex with retail shop space be awarded to Architects Pacific. Geotechnical tests have been awarded to Rod Jepsen.

“The outline design is necessary for ‘rezone’ approval by Director of Town and Country Planning (DTCP).

“The project timeline will be significantly determined by the process of rezoning application with the DTCP and the Housing Authority Survey Plan registration process. A realistic project timeline of 18 months is expected.

“The signed contract with Mobil Oil Fiji is subject to the full completion and approval of the Survey Plan, Lease registration and the ‘special purpose’ rezone by DTCP.”
