The Australian funded Market Development Facility (Fiji) and Suva-based company ACTON have signed a partnership facilitating the development of Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) services in Fiji.

In signing the agreement today, ACTON director, Sanjesh Kumar said Fiji is well placed to market its Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) capabilities to Australian and New Zealand markets.

“Our company is testament to the immense talent that exists in Fiji to provide credible and competitive KPO services that cater to international standards and demands. We are seeing the growing opportunity for Fiji to market itself to companies especially in Australia and New Zealand who may be looking to bring their outsourcing business closer to home following COVID-19.

“This agreement with MDF will help our company to do just that and we are very grateful for the support,” said Mr Kumar. Knowledge Process Outsourcing services (KPOs) operate much like Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services but differ in the type of services they provide.

BPO providers offer a range of services such as customer care, recruitment, as well and finance management while KPO providers cater to companies looking to outsource highly specialised services which include data and research analysis, medical and legal services as well as software management.

Similar to Fiji’s BPO sector, the majority of business generated to date by local KPO companies have traditionally relied on word-ofmouth and existing networks which has limited potential growth.

As part of the partnership agreement, MDF Fiji will assist ACTON with expanding its human resources capabilities to cater for new clients as well as support activities to increase visibility and strategically market the company’s services to potential international clients.

ACTON is an award winning locally owned company specialising in Microsoft cloud services and customization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software packages to manage the day-to-day business demands of clients.

“ACTON is a proven leader in Knowledge Process Outsourcing and further highlights the potential for outsourced services in Fiji as a future economic and employment driver for the country.

“We are delighted to work alongside them to help grow their business and shine a brighter light on Fiji’s KPO capabilities,” said MDF country director, Malcolm Bossley.
