We are all set for our first set of Pacific Energy series that will be held tomorrow at the Nanuku Aerodrome.

This is going to be a very exciting season as we have a lot of racing cars that have arrived into the country lately following Government’s decision to reduce duty on cars.

We had a test & tune run on Thursday and that saw some big guns turning up to tune their cars. All I can say at this point in time is that the national record will be broken soon.

Our champion Ravin Nath is all set and has confirmed running tomorrow.

Apart from Ravin, Vicky Nath (Ravin’s nephew) also has his car ready and should be ready for tomorrow.

Vicky is one of those racers who has been dedicating a lot of time on his car. He will definitely be giving his uncle a good run,

Sandeep Prakash had some clutch issues on the test and tune day; we are keeping our fingers crossed that his clutch will arrive into the country today in time for tomorrow’s race.

Looking at the racers from the Western division, Saten Prasad will be getting his Evo while Kavin Reddy will be racing in a Nissan Skyline.

Kavin along with his RB25 engine, has installed his haltech; he should be either running a low 12s or high 11s.

His brother Kanesh Reddy will be riding a more powerful car - his Nissan GTR34.

Both brothers are set to go head-tohead in tomorrow’s race. Kanesh, who will racing for the first time will out to beat his elder brother who has been racing for awhile . On the other end, the racers from High Rev club are also one of those clubs that want to make a mark in this year’s competition.

Their club already has two cars running in the 11 and 12 seconds categories.

I understand they have recently recruited new members as they are vying for the top prize as far as the inter-club challenge is concerned.

We are very happy with the response we got after FMA announced that all racers must register with a club in order to take part in any FMA race events. This will create more competition among the clubs including Club Toyota and STM who have been leading the club competitions for a while.

More competition

We have some new clubs registered this week and it will be interesting to see what clubs top Fiji racers will be joining.

We have again this year been promoting female drivers and they

will be racing free of charge the whole of this year.

I request the female drivers to come out in numbers as we want to make this more a family event.
