Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) Fiji has been operating in Fiji for 64 years with 65,000 policyholders and still counting.

LICI Fiji manager, Gautam Kumar, said their customers liked their policies due to their consistent high returns.

“We have always delivered to our customers as per their expectations. You can say that LICI always believes in the philosophy of “People’s Money for People’s Welfare,” Mr Kumar said.

He said they carried through different medium.

“We are aware about the importance of insurance through all sorts of publicity, including newspapers, radio, television and out awareness other platforms of social media,” he said. “The main challenge we face at LICI is spreading insurance awareness in the remotely located islands in Fiji and those working in unorganised sectors.

“We help them save money for their future and security.

“We feel that all media houses should come forward for this noble cause of spreading insurance among all Fijians, so that they may get some support during their tough days.” LICI employs around 200 agents in Fiji.

“We have products for all ages and requirements.”

Mr Kumar said insurance was very important for each and every one.

“Our lives are the most important asset that we can ever possess and cannot be replaced but the financial burden can be removed from your family and loved ones if you have an insurance policy.

“An insured person will have a peace of mind knowing that his or her family will be economically safe even after their untimely death.”

“Insurance is very important to each and every one of us. Our lives are the most important asset that we can ever possess and cannot be replaced but the financial burden can be removed from our family and loved ones if we are insured.”

After being diagnosed with a digestive system problem in 2019, Waisea Nasokia was worried about paying for his medical bills from his pocket.

Mr Nasokia said he panicked and lost hope when he found out that his medical bill was $6000.

Fortunately for him, the 39-yearold’s employer had him covered for medical insurance.

“I would not have been able to afford it, but thanks to the insurance cover that the medical bill was taken care of, and I could focus on my recovery,” Mr Nasokia said.

He said he was not feeling well since and he was transported from Nadi to Suva to get his medical check-up.

He was admitted at the Nasese Private Hospital for four days with good care and good food, and he recovered well.

Mr Nasokia says his whole family is also medically insured.

“Insurance is very important to each and every one of us. Our lives are the most important asset that we can ever possess and cannot be replaced but the financial burden can be removed from our family and loved ones if we are insured,” he said.

He advised people to invest their money to insurance companies as it was the best thing to do in this age.

“It will surely manage your risk,” he said. shreeya.verma@fijisun.com.fj
