MARIST BROTHERS SUB JUNIOR RELAY BOYS PLAN AHEAD
They will be the team to beat in the sub junior boys’ 4x100 metres relay event at the Coca-Cola Games.
After displaying good baton changes techniques and speed the quartet look set to claim their first Coca-Cola goal medal.
Marist Brothers High School quartet of Sailasa Naicegu, Julius Ah Sing, Thomas Ravugani and Aliki Temo were unstoppable during the Suva Zone Two athletics competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva on Friday.
Speaking to SUNsports, Ah Sing said they are looking forward to a good Coke Games.
“It’s the biggest game in the region and it’s exciting so we want to experience it all,” the Natomua, Kadavu lad said.
“This is our first year at MBHS so we want to stamp our mark in the school and build this team for the future.
“It has been a while then we see another Marist relay team to emerge so we want to be a dream team that’ll win gold up to our last year of school.”
Ah Sing said their main aim is to win the gold medal, this year.
“It won’t be easy because other schools will come prepared as well,”he said.
“It’s all about teamwork and making sure that we are well focused when it comes to the day.
“Now it’s time for us to train harder. We need to see that our stamina is strong.”
Ah Sing added the plan is stay focused and be consistent right to the
Coca-Cola Games, which is on April 22-24.
“We have to stay grounded and remain focused. There’ll be a lot of competition but we’ve to remain calm and collected,”he said.
“The Coke Games will be different this year because of the pandemic. More schools will be well prepared as everyone wants to win.
“All we need is the support of our fellow students, family and friends if we want to win the gold medal.”
