Bhan Singh In Office, New GM Cane Development Post Created at FSC
Fiji Sugar Corporation has created a new General Manager Cane Development post.
The post was advertised in yesterday’s Fiji Sun.
This new creation really shows a new sugar man is in charge.
Bhan Singh began his term as the new chief executive officer (CEO) on Monday, March 22.
The former PAFCO CEO is a son of canefarmer from Wanikoro, Macuata in Vanua Levu.
He has a long background in the Fijian Sugar Industry.
The new GM Cane Development will report directly to Mr Singh.

The General Manager Cane Development will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive grower support service to increase cane production.
Further, the role will oversee and manage extension services, expansion of estates under cultivation, joint ventures and institutional partnerships to support capacity building for both extension workers and growers.
Key focus areas for this role are productivity, profitability and partnerships.

Principal Accountabilities:
The position is responsible of ensuring that;
*Agricultural Services budgets are prepared, monitored and managed;
*Annual Plans for respective sectors are reviewed and approved;
*Strategic risks pertaining to Field Operations are planned and managed accordingly;
*Grower support services policy and procedural framework are maintained efficiently;
*Growth in expansion of estates under cultivation, joint ventures and institutional partnerships are ensured; *Accurate projection of Cane is made available to meet current and future Mill requirements; *Growers follow the recommended agronomic Sugar Cane Management Practices;
*Accurate and reliable Farmers/ Farm records are maintained;
