Leone Lesianawai was the first Fijian to act in a television series,

Adventures of the Seaspray.

Ratu Leone Lesianawai was commonly known as Sergeant Lesi, and was part of the Royal Fiji Police Force.

Sergeant Leone Lesiwai will always be considered as Fiji’s most famous policeman with the Fijian incomparable “bui ni ga”. Sergeant Lesi, from the beautiful islands of Kadavu, was considered a legend among everyone who knew him.

In later years, Sergeant Lesi became a star in the Australian television series, Adventures of the Seaspray.

After being impressed by his talent, he was asked to join the television series as a cast.

He accepted after taking a leave from the Fiji Police Force.

Adventures of the Seaspray is a 1967 Australian TV series about a widower journalist who travels the Pacific with his children in a sailing boat.

Sergeant Lesi played the character Willyum in 33 episodes of the series.

Leone Lesinawai, who played Willyum in the series, was the owner of the Seaspray ship that was featured in the series.

He leased the boat to the filming company and got the supporting part of Willyum after the production was impressed with his acting skills.

The Seaspray is now located near Nadi and is used for tourist cruises to neighbouring islands.

After retiring as a Police officer he went onto become a guide with the Suva City Tours, and was loved by all tourists who visited our shores.
