Quaint Savusavu and Beautiful Taveuni for Kuchappan
Joseph Kuchappan has a deep passion for his work. He is the senior duty manager at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva.
Mr Kuchappan has been in the tourism industry for over 14 years.
His passion and ability to serve others to the best of his abilities is showcased in the many awards he has received.
Among the many others, Mr Kuchappan has received Tanoa Group of Hotels Guests Employee of the Year award in 2019.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love travelling the world, meeting different people from all different parts of the world, and socialising with friends.
How many places in Fiji have you been to?
I have been all around Viti Levu, Labasa and Savusavu.
What is the one spot in Fiji you would take every visitor to, and why?
Savusavu, the hidden paradise of Fiji.
The beautiful, and quaint town has so much to offer.
Savusavu has lovely hot springs along with great eateries.
What is your favourite secret backyard spot?
It would be my homegrown vegetable garden.
The simplicity and homeliness of a backyard I have nurtured adds to it.
What is your favourite place in Fiji for a pie/coffee?
Moments Café in Scott Street, Suva.
It is in a nice location, and offers great coffee and pastry options.
They offer spectacular kumquat pies.
What is the one spot in Fiji that is on the top of your bucket list?
Definitely Taveuni.
I would love to go for Lavena coastal walk along the lush vegetation and scenic coastal views.
The beautiful waterfalls – naturally cascading water, which illuminates like crystals in the summer Fiji really does connect one with nature – or so I have heard.
When talking about waterfalls, it’s hard not to mention Tavoro Falls in Bouma National Heritage Park, Taveuni.
It is reputed to be one of the most magnificent waterfalls in the country.
So, I would definitely love to visit that place and see its beauty first-hand.
