Mask chains launched: a fashion statement
Ffashion lovers who want to look trendy while wearing masks can do so with Fiji’s first mask chains.
Launched on Thursday, the masks are designed by Fiji’s local designers, jewellery designer Anastasia Georgiou, owner of Star Jewels, in collaboration with fashion designer Temesia Tuicaumia, owner of Temesia.Co.
“These accessories are called mask chains and sunglass or spectacles chains which can double as a necklace whenever you feel like switching them up,” Ms Georgiou said.
“Temesia and I are always looking for unique ways to spice up simple outfits.
“With these restrictions because of COVID-19 pandemic and having it compulsory to wear masks, we decided why not feel good, look good, and most importantly be safe all at once?”
“Not only are these chains stylish, they also help you keep your masks from falling.
“You won’t have to keep touching your masks, and when you do take them off, it’s safe and hygienic.” She said the collection was part of an earlier collaboration with Mr Tuicaumia called Linked Collection.
“The collection of chunky necklaces was earlier launched at the Fiji Fashion Week 2020,” she said. Ms Georgiou said the collection was an extension of Linked Collection.
“We are planning to launch the first part of this collection on Thursday at 9pm and the second part on Friday at 9pm,” she said. “We will be launching, selling, and taking orders from our Instagram page.
“Our handle for Instagram is @ starjewelsfiji and our Facebook page is Star Jewels Fiji.”
She said prices for the mask chains ranged from $25 to $35.
“We have included a complimentary gift of a free matching earring for each piece you purchase.” Ms Georgiou expects to launch
her Mother’s Day collection on her Instagram page.
