North leaders in our Sugar Industry
Look at what the North has offered to the Sugar Industry: leaders. Added to the list is Pradeep Lal, newly appointed Fiji Sugar Corporation board chair. He replaced Vishnu Mohan.
Mr Lal is currently the Regional Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Fiji Pte Limited and Managing Director of the Vodafone Papua New Guinea (PNG).
He is a visionary leader and has been instrumental in transforming the Telecommunications and ICT space in PNG and Vodafone Fiji.
Apart from his full-time job, Mr Lal has made tremendous contributions through his Chairmanship at South Pacific Fertilisers Ltd and as Board Director of ATHIV Singapore, Bluesky American Samoa, Datec Fiji Limited and Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board.
Mr Lal is a full member of CPA Australia, and holds Masters of Business Administration from Aston University, UK and Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Financial Management from University of the South Pacific.
The other leaders originally from the north that have taken over executive positions in the sugar industry include Fiji Sugar Corporation chief executive officer Bhan Singh, Chief Executive Officer Sugar Cane Growers Fund, Raj Sharma, and Sugar Cane Growers Council chief executive officer Vimal Dutt.
Meanwhile Mr Lal has led Vodafone Group of Companies to achieve many successes which includes product innovation and diversification, performance excellence and business growth in Fiji and in the region.
Like many from the North, Mr Lal comes from a Sugar Industry family background. Combine that with his international business expertise and it could add up to good things in an industry still vitally important to our nation.
Kudos to the north for producing such leaders that will move the sugar industry forward.
