7s Time To Answer Call

- ASUAD ALI VANCOUVER Edited by Osea Bola

We are a nation of sevens fanatics. And sure enough we hold our game and the team to dear heart.

Our Team Fiji 7s rugby team is in the land of the rising sun for the Tokyo Olympics.

All worked up after breaking good sweat under our sweltering sun, winning the Pacific Aus Sports Oceania Sevens tournament in Townsville, Queensland, Australia, and the team is focused to defend the 2016 Rio Olympics gold.

And with the team’s opening match against the hosts Japan on July 26 are we ever are ready for the curtain call.

The team knows that and the nation is behind them with all the heart.

Our team must throttle down from the get go with a fired up performance and make a statement, following it up with championship like performances against Canada and Great Britain and beyond.

Game in and out, our fans will be glued to the television rooting behind the team with all the moral support as they’ve during every game and the Olympics will be no different.

Like Ben Ryan’s, 2016 Rio Olympics gold medal winning team, who had the nation’s best players, successor and head coach

Gareth Baber has yet another distinguishable high-performing athletes, with Bristol’s Semi Radradra, Pau’s Aminiasi Tuimaba and Castres-based Vilimoni Botitu and, our own ‘Little big man’ and captain Seremaia ‘Jerry’ Tuwai, and others, the lineup couldn’t come much better.

These are amazing athletes first and leaders known for their focus, sense of motivation, and innate ability to bring out the best in the players around them. And with Baber’s game plan, tacticsand techniques and with the players power, pace and skills, we will conquer Tokyo, Japan Olympics.

It is also our opportunity to create even more history, with a back to back title.

For we are a nation of hope and glory, the glint of the gold medal will bring about the euphoria to the country. We believe.
