Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama was amongst sports enthusiasts spotted playing touch rugby at Albert Park, Suva yesterday.
Following his announcement on Sunday night, Government has eased restrictions to allow contact sports to be played.
These include rugby, netball, football, basketball and cricket.
“First day after so many months. Was just great to feel the grass under your feet and the rugby ball in your hands,” Mr Bainimarama said after the friendly match.
“You forget everything else in that 90 minutes of touch rugby.”
Further to this, Government has also lifted restrictions on the number of people permitted to gather outdoors.
