Environment and each other

- Simon JC Hazelman,

When we celebrated Fiji Day, it was to celebrate with pride and respect for our nation, each other, and for our environment.

There is so much animosity and so much disregard for our environment. We need to seriously question our loyalty, our respect, and care for each other and for our isles.

I find it very sad that such a beautiful country as ours, in the middle of a tropical paradise in the South Pacific, paints a picture that everything is hunky-dory when the reality is far from it.

What use is it to celebrate when we show little to no respect for each other and our environment?

It’s time we get real and I suggest we start working on mending these poor aspects of our lifestyle.

Let’s start by first showing respect for oneself and for each other and showing care and love for our surroundings.

Naturally our isles should be a paradise and our characters ought to match. It’s pointless otherwise!

Isa my Fiji!
