Brazil want to play European teams often, says manager
Barranquilla: Brazil dropped points for the first time in their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 0-0 draw in Colombia.
The Copa America runners-up had won all of their previous nine qualifiers for Qatar but were nowhere near their best in Barranquilla on Sunday.
Brazil had the best chances but efforts from Manchester United’s Fred, Leeds winger Raphinha and Ajax’s Anthony all failed to register.
Brazil are nine points clear at the top of the group. Colombia remain in fifth place with 13.
Brazil manager Tite said he hopes a review of the international football calendar will pave the way for South American teams to play more often against their European rivals.
This was after FIFA considers a plan to stage the World Cup every two years.
Results: Brazil 0-0 Colombia, Bolivia 1-0 Peru, Venzuela 2-1 Ecuador.
