Teen Found Dead in Pool of Blood
Karalaini Kuruvesi could not hold back her tears as she described her late grandson, Ratu George Brown, who was found in a pool of blood. He was lying in a common driveway metres away from his home in Nakasi on Thursday morning.
The 16-year-old left home on Wednesday afternoon for a barbeque party and was found the next morning.
Ms Kuruvesi described Ratu George as a sweet boy.
“My grandson was someone who was always happy and would go out of his way to help others,” Ms Kuruvesi
said.
“He was a very humble person who was always very respectful towards others. He never used to talk back to me and was always very kind.
“We are still trying to come to terms with the fact that he is no more and it hurts when we think of how he was a few metres away from home.
“On Wednesday afternoon, he told us to wait for him because he was going to bring barbeque for us. We waited for him, but when it was after 12am we thought he would have slept over at a friend’s place.
“At around 5 to 5.30am, our neighbour, who is a taxi driver was knocking to tell us that my grandson was lying with blood everywhere in the common driveway.
“We ran out and saw that he was wet, there was blood on his ears and nose and blood was flowing from the back of his head.
“To see my grandson in that state was something I would never forget. My grandson lost his dad in 2014 and his mother last year. He is the youngest of four siblings.”
He was a Year 11 student of Nakasi High School.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident and a post mortem would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
