It was my first day at office and I was nervous especially as it was my first job. We were taken to a conference room and made to wait. Just a few minutes later a man wearing a jacket walked in and introduced himself. “Good morning to you all! I am Ravitesh, the CEO of this company and I am here to share some thoughts with you. At the outset I wish to see your shoes”. The moment he said this, I for sure, got completely taken aback. “Shoes!” I reacted anxiously.“Yes, all your shoes” he responded.Well, we had no choice but to show them to him.“Good!” they all seem well polished and I am impressed. But then, there is another shoe which I wish to talk to you about and this is also something that you will have to wear every time you walk in to this office. Let me explain. The shoe that I am talking about stands for four positive and progressive qualities that you must start developing in yourself to help you succeed in your professional and personal life! The ‘S’ of the shoe is that which stands for ‘SPEED’ and by that, I mean the speed and passion with which you will work each day. Speed is the way in which you will burn away your laziness and the possibilities of procrastination. It will make you more disciplined and dedicated. The ‘H’ of the shoe stands for ‘HELPFULLNESS’. As an employee of this company you must develop the feeling of cooperation and team work.Wherever and whenever you see any of your colleagues in need of some help you must, without any hesitation, go and offer to help them. This attitude will make you a very positive team player.

The ‘O’ represents ‘OPTIMISM’. Always try to look at the half glass as half-full and not half-empty. Even in the times of failure it is optimism that will make you find positive solutions to the toughest of problems.

Finally, the ‘E’ is that which stands for ‘EXPRESSION’.

This means that you must develop the politeness and assertiveness while expressing your thoughts to all your colleagues and customers.”The new ‘SHOE’ that the CEO told us about was truly exceptional and extremely positive towards our development!
