Pastor introduces money saving methods for Christmas

Many Fijians who were followers of Maca Tabuya on social media were not only inspired but put into practice the bottle and envelope saving methods.
Mrs Tabuya is a missionary and a pastor of the Assemblies of God Church at Namaka in Nadi and is also an entrepreneur.
At the beginning of the pandemic she set up a platform in social media by conducting live sessions videos of planning, budgeting and saving.
Two saving methods which she shared were how to budget money by using bottle and envelope savings methods for the $1000 challenge.
Pandemic
Throughout the pandemic, many of her followers have put into practice all that they have learnt from her.
It was not only the Fijians who have been inspired but some around the Pacific Islands who have posted on how they had benefited from that method in saving us for their children’s education and preparing for years ahead of them.
Testaments
One of her followers has shared on her page that during the pandemic, she had saved for three months and it amounted to $1377.
A couple continued to use bottle saving methods and after a few months of saving their $2 coins, they collected $500 and deposited the money to their bank.
They were inspired to continue saving for themselves and their children.
As Christmas is getting nearer, some have been using the saving methods for the festive season; Mrs Tabuya said some people are customised to buy everything.
“December is when we all go out and buy everything, a lot of unnecessary things. It is okay to cut down things and stick to a budget.”
“Remember school kicks off in a few weeks, start buying those stationery supplies and preparing for 2022,” she added.
