A HEAVY RAIN ALERT IS NOW IN FORCE FOR THE WHOLE OF THE FIJI GROUP.
Situation: A convergence zone lies slow moving near the group. Associated cloud and showers affects parts of the group. Meanwhile, a moist northerly wind flow continues to prevail over Fiji. A trough of low pressure with cloud and rain is approaching the group from the west and is expected to affect the group from Friday.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji Group:
Today: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding in low lying areas. Motorists can expect poor visibility and unfavourable driving conditions in areas of heavy falls.
Moderate northerly winds.
Moderate seas. Outlook for tomorrow: Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms over most places.
For Navua / Suva / Nausori :
Tomorrow: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Outlook for tomorrow: Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Showers increasing to rain and becoming frequent and heavy from the evening.
For Sigatoka / Coral Coast:
Today: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Outlook for tomorrow: Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms.
For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
Today: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Outlook for tomorrow: Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. Showers increasing to rain and becoming frequent and heavy from the evening.
