SINGH HOPES FOR MORE WOMEN PARTICIPATION IN ELECTIONS
Nalini Singh is hopeful more women will participate in the 2022 General Election.
The Fiji Women’s Rights Movement, executive director said members were eagerly waiting to find out.
She said there were continuous efforts encouraging women to rise and voice their concerns.
“It’s a myth that only men can be better leaders,” she said.
“There needs to be a concerted effort to create those platforms to encourage women to come up and have a sit on the table, voice their concerns and also articulate what could be the ways forward.”
She added that the Young Women’s Forum and the Fiji Women’s Forum have always called for special measures to be put in place for all women.
