PEOPLE OF VATULELE AGREE TO DEVELOP ISLAND RESORT: PM

- >WAISEA NASOKIA

The people of Vatulele have agreed on the development of the Vatulele Island Resort.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama highlighted this during the Nadroga-Navosa Provincial Council Meeting in Nasigatoka Village yesterday.

He said those were some of the highlights of all the work carried out with the Government in Nadroga-Navosa Province where all native land remained protected.

“I am excited to see the steps that the province wants to take for our country,” he said.

“I am happy Vatulele has agreed to develop the Vatulele Island Resort.

“This will develop the island and it is another path for employment for their people.”

Mr Bainimarama assured the council members that their land would always remain protected.

“We have to be grateful that our laws don’t allow our land to be lost compared to past Governments that had given away your land,” he said.

“Today, your Government has assured you that that will not happen again. This is the reason I don’t understand some of the lies by our opposition who confuse people on the laws that have been passed such as Act 22 of 2021 commonly known as Bill 17.”
