“We are still in the process, and they could be eliminated and replaced before nomination or after nomination, if the supervisor of elections finds out that there are certain conditions that they do not satisfy.”

The party also released a statement about Mr Narayan: “The People’s Alliance confirms that it has received allegations circulating on social media regarding one of its provisional candidates, Sajal Narayan, for previous charges in the USA.

“The People’s Alliance is following up with Mr Narayan and the relevant authorities and will make a decision based on these findings.

“The party is fully confident and supports its list of provisional candidates for the Fiji 2022 General Election.

“The confirmed candidate list will be sent through to the Registrar of Political Parties, in accordance with the Fijian Elections Office requirements in due course.”
