The President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, shared some words of wisdom at the opening of the Multifaith Centre for Human Excellence at Sai Prema Ashram. He appropriately recognised the presence of the Head of Global Humanitarian Mission of Love and Service, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai; The Founding Trustee & Chairman of Sai Prema Foundation Fiji, Mahendra Tappoo and international guests from the Sai Global Federation of Foundations Trustees and members of the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji.

They have all become a great force for good to the people of Fiji and the region through the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji.

Ratu Wiliame says Sai Prema Foundation’s reputation precedes it, given the numerous community service contributions to the poor, underprivileged and needy people of Fiji through Medicare, Educare and Social Care initiatives since its official launch in 2016.

“These vast contributions have earned the foundation a great foundation and recognition as a leading Non-Government Organisation in Fiji. The Foundation’s investments is testament, particularly in the establishment of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital a world-class hospital specialising in the treatment of congenital heart disease in children.”

The Sai Prema Ashram is built on universal and divine principles that promote peace and unity in a country of diversity. It is non-political, non-religious and non-denominational. Its opening is timely when the nation is in the grip of election fever. Social and the mainstream media give us a glimpse of the tension and hostility that exist between opposing political parties and politicians in their battle for votes.

It is hoped that many will take advantage of the services offered by the ashram because they will learn that our different backgrounds, beliefs and political affiliations should not separate us or tear us apart. In fact our diversity should be a great source of strength to build national unity. The centre is built on a strong foundation of love and service to humanity.

It falls in line with the thought that anything that is virtuous, lovely and of good report we seek after them. It is founded on charity. The Apostle Paul says in the New Testament of the Holy Bible: “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” (1Corinthians 13: 13).

We take this opportunity to wish the centre all the best for the future.
