BAIL REFUSED FOR ALLEGED TEMPLE SACRILEGE DUO

The duo charged with breaking into the Geeta Ashram Temple in Varadoli, Ba have been denied bail.

They appeared before the Magistrates Court in Ba yesterday.

Lemeki Malimali Tabusoi and another juvenile are each charged with one count of sacrilege.

The juvenile appeared before Magistrate Samuela Qica while Tabusoi remained at the Lautoka

Remand Centre.

It is alleged that the two broke into the temple at around 3.30am on April 17. Prosecutor, Corporal Ramesh Naidu told the court that the accused persons had no previous convictions.

Corporal Naidu would serve further disclosures to the accused persons.

The matter has been adjourned to May 17 where the pair would take their plea.
