Sereima Moce is one of the vendors who lost her business during the Flea Market fire incident in Suva in 2020.

Ms Moce, who is the grandmother of Fijiana Drua captain, Bitila Tawake, who hails from Gau Island, used to sell clothes and shoes at the Flea market for two years.

“However, this was not an excuse to rely on others for an income,” she said.

Despite being a widow, the grandmother of two continued to find ways to sustain her livelihood.

She used a type of art she learned in Brazil to boost her business.

“I learned how to make jewelleries through a friend who gave me all the materials too,” she said.

“I had no excuse to make, so made use of the materials that was provided with.”

She believed a person could do anything to make a living with all the resources around them.

She was present at the Mana Café in during Solomons Project Market Day last week.

Her jewellery items can be shown and contacted on Sereima’s Collection on Facebook.

She sells her items at the Fiji Arts Council Market. She has booked a space to sell at the Suva Flea Market.
