4 ‘CRIMINALS’ CAUGHT, IN CUSTODY

Four known offenders are in Police custody after they allegedly attempted to invade the home of a Nausori businessma­n yesterday.

The four were allegedly armed with pinch bars, a kitchen knife, and a steel rod.

Fiji Police Force Chief Operations Officer, Assistant Commission­er of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan said a tipoff was received by the Police around midnight.

“Around 1.20am, the suspects were intercepte­d before the execution of their planned job and they tried to escape from the scene,” ACP Khan said.

They were arrested and were in custody at the Nausori Police Station.

Investigat­ions into the incident continued.

Police Commission­er, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said the four known offenders were high-risk criminals and were also involved in a jewellery shop break-in. ASHNA KUMAR Edited by Losirene Lacanivalu
