TUI NADI DISAGREES WITH CAMILLO COMMENTS ON PA

- MERELEKI NAI Edited by Jonathan Bryce mereleki.nai@fijisun.com.fj

If Abel Camillo does not

accept the decision made by The People’s Alliance (PA) leaders, then he is not the right kind of person to be in the party.

This was the sentiment raised by the Tui Nadi, Ratu Vuniani Navuniuci after Mr Camillo’s claimed that Tui Nadi was not happy with the selection of the PA provisional candidates.

Ratu Vuniani said at first he didn’t know the criteria of selection, but later learned that the selection was fair.

“Afterward I understood it and knew that the selection and the decision that was made were fair enough,” he said.

“At the end of the day we have to respect the decision from the selection panel.

“Whatever decision was made we need to respect that.

“It is not only Abel Camillo who will fight to stand for the people of Rotuma. There are many other Rotumans around the country who will compete for that place. The executive selectors will then decide and select the best person to represent Rotuma.

“He has to respect the decision made by the selection panel. If he does not accept the decision then he is not the kind of person that is needed in the party. If he does not accept it then wait for another election in years to come, he might be given a chance.

“The most important thing is that we need to remain steady in whatever position that has been given to us in the party.”

Abel Camillo had claimed that PA Nadi president Sekove Tuilakeba has suffered a stroke which Ratu Vuniani confirmed and said that Mr Tuilakeba was resting at his home in Narewa.
