Lautoka-based High Court Judge, Justice Sunil Sharma is an inspiration to many people, one in particular is to his son and the newly-elected head boy of Central College Lautoka, 18-year-old, Sumil Sharma.
Sumil alongside the college head girl, Sneha Karan were inducted as the school heads during the annual prefects’ investiture ceremony in Lautoka on Thursday.
A total of 99 school captains and 35 school prefects were inducted.
Sumil said he drew inspiration from his mother, Saleshni, and his father encouraged him to take up the role.
The pure science student and oldest of two siblings, has witnessed the long hours of hard work from his father and would work towards inculcating the same values as the Head Boy.
“I have seen him struggle from his transition being the Legal Aid director to being a Judge, I’ve seen how he has worked hard late into the night, I will try to also implement his good characteristics into my work,” he said.
“I am planning to do law and I want to also try and get into the medical field and if given the opportunity I want to also become a Judge or even the Chief Justice of Fiji someday.”
Head girl, Sneha, said in her new position she aimed to be the best leader working together with the teachers and students.
