Head Prefects Attribute Achievement to Parents
Asugar cane farmer’s son has attributed the firm upbringing by his parents for his achievements.
Vivek Sami was inducted as head boy of Bocalevu Muslim Primary School in Labasa on Thursday.
“I am thankful to my parents who have always been supportive and trained me to be disciplined,” Vivek said.
“They want me to become a doctor and I will surely fulfil their dream.”
The 13-year-old said he felt proud to follow the footsteps of his older brother, who was once the head boy of this school.
Vivek of Bocalevu, Labasa said the teachers had set a criteria where only one student who met all the requirements would be selected from the list.
Head girl Sheza Shakeel thanked the teachers for selecting her to the position.
“I always wanted to become the head girl to make my parents proud,” Sheza said.
“My parents are always busy with daily operation of the business and it is my dream to become an accountant so that I can be their helper.”
The Wailevu, Labasa lass said she would work together with 30 prefects, 120 students and 16 teachers from preschool to Year Eight.
