Bolaca helps Barbarians win
Former Swire Shipping Fijian Drua utility back Napolioni Bolaca played a hand for the Fijian Barbarians side in winning their first match at the Fiji Bitter Malomalo 7s tournament yesterday.
Bolaca played a critical role when they thrashed Malomalo 35-5 in their pool opener at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
He said it was in his best interest to support the request of coach Ben Gollings to return to enjoying rugby in a familiar environment, and where he has had massive success.
Bolaca thanked the Fijian Drua for taking him through the rigours of the Super Rugby atmosphere.
He said that he now returns to fight for a place in the national 7s squad for the remaining World Rugby 7s series, the upcoming Rugby World Cup and the Commonwealth Games assignments.
Meanwhile, veteran playmaker Vatemo Ravouvou said: “It is good to be back in the fold.
“I did not lose hope, we will return when the door opens again.”
He admitted that he would have to fight hard for his spot in the next leg of competition.
