Boubale Primary School in Labasa has been provided a 32-inch television and a free-to-air Walesi set-top box to improve their access to current affairs and educational learning.

This was part of government’s Northern Community Project where schools were provided with Walesi Setup packages.

Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports, Alvick Maharaj, officiated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Walesi services during the school’s prefect’s induction ceremony, on Friday.

Mr Maharaj said the Government always worked on a vision to ensure all students around the country had internet connectivity and Walesi services available on their school premises.

Head of School Navindra Jas, warmly welcomed the much-needed assistance as this free-to-air- television resource would be beneficial for their students and teachers.

Mr Jas said the students now had the opportunity to watch live parliamentary sessions where they could learn how parliament proceedings happen and be able to enhance their education where research videos on important topics could be telecasted for better visual understanding.
