Fijians urged to be cautious with spending

The million dollar question from the thousands who are living in the very margins of society, the poor, the needy and the social welfare recipients is:

“How do they cope with all the food price hikes being envisaged?”

A medium white sliced loaf goes up from $1.00 to $1.54 (for starters) ..... a massive 54% hike.

The list will be endless.

Looks like there will be little or no choice. Surviving one meal a day - is a huge inevitable reality check.

There is no known provision for them to absorb such “shocks.”
