Seruvatu wins Woodstock Pro-Am

Suva profession­al golfer Anasa Seruvatu shot four under 68 to take out the profession­al division of the 2022 Woodstock Pro-Am at the Denarau Golf Racquet Club last Saturday.

But it was not an easy ride as Seruvatu had to play in the play-off against Fiji’s Order of Merit contender, Tomasi Tuivuna.

“It was a grand competitio­n as I had to go to the play-off,” Seruvatu said.

“Tuivuna did give me a good run for the money. I want to thank the sponsors Tappoo for organising

this for us profession­als.”

In third spot was Denarau Golf

Club manager Amitesh Chandra who shot 70 in the 18-hole stroke play.

Former winner Sam Lee did not compete as he was competing in the Asian tour.

In the amateur division, Nadi businessma­n Abid Hussein shot a gross 72 to claim yet another prize. Men’s overall net was won by Joeli Kata, 58.

Bella Cho once again in top shape, shot 69 to claim the Ladies gross. Ladies net M Kwon (52), and second was Nadi businesswo­man Amy Subam with 69.

Tappoo director Kaushal Tapoo said, this was their second year hosting the Woodstock Pro-Am.

“We have been impressed with this year’s turnout, almost 100 golfers participat­ed,” he said.

“We are proud to support golf in Fiji. Woodstock is a very popular product, made from Genuine Kentucky Bourbon.

“It’s loved by golfers, and the general public. Denarau Golf and Racquet Club is a popular venue for golfers.

“It’s good to see Fiji PGA and Golf Fiji promoting talent. This year’s Woodstock Pro-Am was a good opportunit­y for golfers to show their talent.”
