Netani Radradra, 18, of Queen Victoria School’s Tovata House won the senior boys 100 metres final during school interhouse at ANZ Stadium on May 11, 2022. He is Flying Fijians centre Semi Radradra’s younger brother and a hot favourite for the Cokes blue ribbon.

Netani Radradra was excited when he won the senior boys 100 metres final during the Queen Victoria School inter-house competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

The Somosomo Taveuni native is Flying Fijians centre Semi Radradra’s younger brother.

At 18, the Tovata House flyer is the hot favorite for the Cokes blue ribbon to be taken down to Vulinitu.

Radradra confidently told SUNsports after his run that he still could do better.

His time was not released by officials.

“It has been a while and it’s good to be back on the tracks,” he said.

“The Coke Games was cancelled for two years, returning to school and preparing for the competition has been tough.

“I’m excited and happy that the Coke Games is back and I’m looking forward to my first inter zone.

“I’ve only watched it on television but now I have a chance to actually feel the Cokes atmosphere.

“I did not train during COVID it was just touch rugby and fun games.

“Preparing for the inter-house was not that well but I had to put in the effort and commitment.

“My family has been my backbone without their support I wouldn’t been here.

“I need to train hard and be more focused in my preparation.

“My performance at the interhouse is a lot better.

“I feel stronger and fitter which is a posi¬tive sign.

Radradra added that he needs to work on his start ahead of the Tailevu Zone meet.

“I have to work hard on my start and make sure I master it,” he said.

“This all comes down to my concentration and focus level.

“Really struggled with that during the inter-house, starting caused the holdup of the Blue ribbon.

“This will only get better if I practice more at training and stay focused.

Meanwhile Bau House were crowned the 2022 inter-house champions with 14 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze.

Defending champions Verata in second place with 13 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze.

Rewa House at third place with 13 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze medals while Tovata came in at fourth place with nine gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze.
